Largest single-phase solar development in Brazil

The Vista Alegre solar power complex is a 902 MWp solar photovoltaic facility that began full commercial operations in December 2024. The solar complex produces approximately 2 TWh of renewable electricity per year, equivalent to the annual consumption of over one million Brazilian households.

Vista Alegre stands as Brazil's largest single-phase solar development, highlighting the country's growing leadership in large-scale renewable generation.

The complex is co-owned by Atlas Renewable Energy, Hydro Rein, and Albras, one of Brazil's largest aluminum producers and power consumers. Hydro Rein holds a 20% ownership stake, acquired from Atlas Renewable Energy in late 2024.

Atlas Renewable Energy remains the majority shareholder and project operator. Albras participates as an energy offtaker under a 21-year power purchase agreement from January 2025.

The project was financed through the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES), marking the largest US-dollar renewable energy loan ever issued by the institution.

Hydro Rein has collaborated with Atlas Renewable Energy and Albras on Vista Alegre since 2021, and this is the second major partnership between the three companies, following the Boa Sorte solar complex, which began operations in early 2024.
