Geisli Energi
Hydro Rein and Norwegian landowner Opplysningsvesenets fond (OVF) have established a joint solar company called Geisli Energi.
Through Geisli Energi, the parties aim to develop seven solar projects totaling 650 MW at selected properties in Norway by 2029.
Geisli Energi is owned 49.9 percent by Hydro Rein and 50.1 per cent by OVF. OVF is one of Norway’s largest and oldest landowners. The fund owns several properties with good solar conditions located close to industry sites in Norway.
Geisli Energi will build and operate ground-mounted solar parks in order to produce clean energy with limited impacts on nature. We will conduct thorough biodiversity assessments, preserve species and animal welfare while minimizing the footprint through small impacts and installations with low impact.
Transparency and openness about our projects is of key importance. Local politicians, inhabitants, organizations and neighbours must be included in the process in order to develop renewable energy in coexistence with local communities. We are actively working to ensure a good dialogue with key stakeholders.
